Alarm Enhancer

History

Version 5.20, April, 1998

Non-registered Version

A registration code is supplied to enable testing of the registered
features. This code works on Sunday mornings.

Registered Version

The Check timer can be set when autooff is enabled. This will only
come into effect if it longer than the remaining autooff period.

The scrolling messages can be switched off.

The alarm time is normally displayed on the System screen instead of a
file name. This can be switched off.

Technical Changes

The Check timer has been changed to check the alarms 10 seconds before
Autooff instead of cycling with an interval less than the autooff time.
This should solve a possible problem of an alarm being missed caused by
a combination of a short autooff period and a large Agenda file.

A two second pause before the alarm time and two seconds of looping
after the alarm have been replaced with asynchronous timers.

Version 5.13, March, 1998

Some non-English Psions use a 2 letter short day name. Enhancer was
not conistently using 2 letters rather than 3.

Version 5.12, March, 1998

Some changes to the user interface. In particular, there is now
immediate confirmation that registration has been successful.

Technical change

Alarm time now passed from the dialog to the alarm setting procedure as
a time instead of a difference from the current time.

Version 5.11, February, 1998

Non-registered version.

Instead of scrolling, the Information screen now has a window showing
the next alarm and a small scrolling area for messages. The
information window updates only when it picks up a new alarm instead of
at every test.

Silent Alarm Beep no longer beeps on disabled alarms.

The name under the Enhancer icon on the System screen now uses 00
instead of a single 0 for zero hours and minutes.

Registered Version.

Silent Alarm Beep can be set to less than 1 second.

Option to display the information window to the right of the dialog.
The Siena screen is too narrow for this to be useful on that machine.

When more than one alarm has gone off, this is indicated to the left of
the running clock in the dialog.

The beeps that sound when a new alarm is detected can be switched off.

Changes to message text and alarm sound are checked as well as the
alarm time and disabled flag when testing for a new first alarm.

Technical change

The Menu key or hot key is passed to the configuration program via the
configuration file instead of the interprocess messaging system.

Version 5.02, January, 1998

New machine type added to solve German 3C disabled alarm problem.
Information received from Dirk Straka indicates that machines with the
German ROM version 5.21 should use the machine "3C" and those with
German ROM 5.23F (and above?) should use "3C alternate"

Version 5.01, January, 1998

Silent Alarm Beep added.

Version 5.0, October, 1997

Delete key implemented in the dialog.

If Enhancer.opa is on a flash disk, the configuration file is saved to
the loc::m:\enhancer\ directory.

Added a configuration program to register, configure default times,
sticky times and the check timer.

The registered version shows more of the message text in the dialog.

The dialog in the registered version expands to show even more of the
message text.

The registered version shows the event time and date in the Enhancer
dialog.

Version 4.1, September, 1997

Enhancer now detects if an alarm is disabled.

Version 4.0, July, 1997

Enhancer no longer stalls if an alarm goes off and is left unattended.
Up to 4 alarms are remembered

Option to allow the OFF key to be intercepted.

Machine type and OFF key intercept setting are stored in a
configuration file

Running clock displayed on foreground screen.

Version 3.3, June, 1997

This version works on the 3C, Siena as well as on the 3A.

The alarm message is displayed on the Enhancer dialog screen.

Bug fixes.

Version 2.1, May, 1997.

Beeps are at a lower frequency to be less intrusive.

Version 2, May, 1997.

Allows alarms to be rescheduled for several minutes (defaults: 5 and 10
minutes) or at a specific time (default: 1 hour from the current time).

Enhancer's timer is now reset only if the time of the first alarm known
by the Time application has changed.

Beeps are sounded when Enhancer's timer is cancelled and set.

Version 1, May, 1997.

Allows alarm to be rescheduled for 5 minutes.
